You're right—we don’t know if counselling is right for you, if this approach, this space, or this time is the right fit. What you can do is notice what happens inside of you when you think about going to counselling. And then notice what happens if you decide not to go.
Counselling tends to work well when there’s an intrinsic motivation—when something in you feels drawn to try, to give it a go, to shift something, or to move toward a different experience of life. If that curiosity or desire is there, counselling can be one way to explore and create change.

Yes, I hear you. I’ve had the same experience myself, and I know that finding the right therapist is its own journey.
I usually invite people to try three sessions to see if this space feels right—if you feel safe, understood, and like this way of working resonates with you. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it’s important to find the right fit.
What I offer is a space where we move at your pace—there’s no rush, no pressure, just an invitation to explore what feels right for you. My approach is holistic and transpersonal, meaning we look beyond just managing symptoms and work toward deeper healing. I integrate Somatic Experiencing®, which focuses on the mind-body connection, allowing for shifts that aren’t just cognitive but also deeply felt.
-
There’s always a bit of a risk in trying something new. The best way to find out is to try. I suggest three sessions as a way to see what feels right, what might not, and whether we can build a relationship and a working agreement that supports you. Therapy is a collaboration, and sometimes it takes being in the space together to really know.

While I offer talk therapy, talking is not a requirement in our sessions. Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) takes a different approach, recognizing that healing doesn’t always come through words. Trauma and stress often leave imprints on the body that can’t be fully expressed or resolved through conversation alone.
SE™ focuses on tuning into the body and its sensations, which often tell a story that words cannot. In a session, we might work with subtle body awareness, small movements, or the exploration of how emotions show up physically. This allows us to gently release stored tension and restore balance without needing to dive into verbal explanations or recount traumatic experiences.
This approach honours your natural pace and comfort, creating a safe and supportive space where healing can happen through connection, presence, and curiosity—even in silence. It’s about allowing your body to guide the process, making room for profound transformation without the pressure to find the right words.
-
Our first session is a great opportunity to get to know each other, get a feel for the space, and ask any questions you might have. We’ll make space to explore your therapy aims, goals, and intentions—what brings you here, as well as what is currently working in your life.
We’ll also look at your existing resources and supports, as these will help navigate the more challenging moments in therapy. This session is about creating a foundation for our work together in a way that feels safe and supportive for you.
-
You can prepare for a session—but you don’t have to. There are no "shoulds" in our therapy space. If you’d like to take some time to reflect on your motivation or what you’re hoping will be different in your life, that’s great. But if you’re not sure yet, that’s okay too. We’ll have space in our first session to sense into that together.
If you would like some reflective questions, here are some ideas:
What brings you to therapy?
What changes would you like to see in your life?
How would you like to walk through the world differently?
How might those around you notice those changes in you?
What is working in my life right now?
What are my supports?
Who are the people I can rely on?
How will I feel when I know that therapy is working for me?
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable—there’s no dress code or expectations. It’s natural to feel nervous, and that’s okay. If you have any questions or concerns before we begin, I’m here to support you.
-
Sessions usually last 50 to 55 minutes. The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Many clients start with weekly/fortnightly or monthly sessions and adjust with time. We'll regularly review and tailor the schedule to best support your journey.

Yes, I offer online counselling sessions via Zoom, providing flexibility and convenience for clients who cannot attend in person. Online therapy is effective for addressing many issues and maintains the same level of confidentiality, professionalism, and support as face-to-face sessions.

Unfortunately, counsellors are not part of the Medicare rebate scheme, so you do not need a GP referral. I know it can seem daunting at the beginning, especially if you've previously used your Mental Health Care Plan to see a psychologist. There are always pros and cons to different paths, but one of the benefits of not needing a referral is that you have more control over your healing journey. You’re able to choose a therapist that resonates with you personally, without needing to go through a GP first.
The space we are creating together will be our space—everything we discuss will remain between us. With a referral, there’s a responsibility to share facts and progress with your GP, but here, it’s just you and I, working together on what matters most to you, in a way that feels right and comfortable for you.

My hourly fee is $145. This reflects the time, experience, and care I bring to our sessions. Therapy is an investment in your well-being and personal growth, and I aim to support you in a way that aligns with your unique journey. Special discounts may apply, and I will let you know if they do.

I highly value both your time and mine. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours' notice so I can offer the appointment to someone else who will greatly appreciate and benefit from it. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a fee, and missed appointments without notice will be charged the full fee. This policy ensures that I can continue to offer timely and dedicated care to all clients.
